Faith Formation

As a Catholic school, Saint Teresa is grounded in the teachings of the Catholic Church and the charism of St. Teresa. We are committed to providing students with tools and support necessary for their personal journeys of faith. Through the experiences of masses, prayer and service we guide students towards a deeper love of God.

  1. Weekly Masses

Students attend once a week, either on Tuesday or on special feast days. Mass provides students the opportunity to pray and to glorify God. As Christians, we live in community. Attending mass regularly helps students to build and connect with their faith community. Students are asked to read and lead the Prayer of the Faithful at the monthly masses.

  2. Prayer Services

Prayer services are scheduled throughout the school year. Traditionally student-led prayer services have been held for Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving, advent, Lent, the opening and closing of the school year.

  3. Daily Prayer

Morning Routine – Daily prayer is the responsibility of the eighth-grade class and are part of our morning routine. Middle school students are responsible for raising and lowering the flag each day, leading the school in the Pledge of Allegiance and the Lord’s Prayer.

Service to Church and Community

As Catholics, our faith is reflected through service to church, community, country and our world. St. Teresa’s provides the following service opportunities:

  1. Altar Servers

Students in grades four through eight who wish to serve at mass are strongly encouraged to become an Altar Server. This is an exciting way to grow in your faith and to help your parish community.

  2. Chorus

St. Teresa Church is always looking for gifted or interested singers to join the children’s choir. The choir meets weekly throughout the year to prepare songs for Sunday’s 9:00 am Family Mass. This is on hold this year due to Covid.

  3. Annual Food Drive

For Thanksgiving the students hold an annual food drive for needy families in the Pawtucket community. The 2020 food drive raised more than 2100 canned goods.

  4. Jump Rope for Heart

In February each year students jump rope for the American Heart Association, raising money for a worthy cause and learning the importance of exercise.
